Yeah man, they'd freak out new pilots coming to Nellis for exercises (not sure if they were ever used in Red Flag or not). Imagine flying over the Nevada desert and a MiG in full Red Star glory slides in on your 3 o'clock.

I had a book when i was a kid called "Russia's Top Guns" that had all sorts of cool planes in it. It listed all of the wacky code names that the russian planes had and "Frogfoot" was always my favorite. Evidently I didn't pay much attention as to which plane it the name was actually attached to.

The very first model aircraft I ever built was a Mig-23 Flogger, my Dad and I built it when I was about 5. It had swing wings and everything! I was so proud of it, right up until it accidentally got crushed while moving house :( A box of my models broke open and this one fell out :(

Heh. The airframe is kind of the Navy's B-52, inasmuch as if it wasn't leaking hydraulic fluid somewhere, something was wrong. An old airframe that kept getting revamped and refitted and stayed around for a long time. Plus it seats four in hideous levels of comfort. Only the E2C held more. OK I am turning off the plane nerd stuff.
